Many of our fellow blazers are unaware of a startling change that is coming to schools across the nation, and this will change our school experience for good! As of a few weeks ago, nap class is now mandatory during school hours. Scientists have made the startling revelation that over 2/3 of current students don’t receive enough sleep to function! Now, this could be due to a variety of reasons, but most teenagers seem to suffer from devastating conditions such as video game addiction, too much coffee, and worst of all, homework. Now, we are unable to do much about that, but what we can do is implement naptime! Read on to discover what this means, and which class will be leaving.
So, now that we need to work a nap into our daily schedule, which department has got to go? The administration has decided, drumroll please, that English class will be replaced! We know you are all currently devastated, and probably crying, but fear not! Our English wing will be replaced with the brand new…Sleep Wing! We will be covering the floors with cushioned pillows, and each desk will be replaced with a comfy mattress. Our beloved English teachers will not be leaving, their new job will be to play white noise and make sure absolutely NO WORK is happening during our naptime. What do our students have to say, do you ask? Well, here is an exclusive view from our very own…Johannah L!
Q: How do you think the absence of English will affect our students?
A: “Most people would benefit; we would all be less stressed and have more sleep. I think a lot of students would be happier, but we also would be less intelligent because we would use more slang and less grammar.”
Q: How do you feel about your new class, sleeping time?
A: “I would love it so much; I would be so much happier and have a lot more time for homework while catching up on sleep in class.”
While this change may affect our fellow NDP blazers in unforeseen ways, many students are rejoicing at the new sleep curriculum. A recent poll has been put out, and it shows that a stunning 98% of students support the new sleep changes! Here are some quotes from students about the new class announcement:
Azi C ‘28: “I am excited about the new changes and think that it’ll be very helpful to catch up on sleep. However, I’m nervous about how well people will be able to speak and read without Grammar and Reading lessons.”
Johannah L ‘28: “I think it’ll be amazing to get to sleep during the day, but I’ll probably become more dumb and not be able to write anything well.”
Evelyn J ‘28: “I think the new changes are amazing! The new class will make sure I get enough sleep, so I can be alert and rested for the rest of the day!”
What do you think about these startling changes? Will you benefit from more sleep? Or will you not be able to speak or write? There will be more information coming next month on this change that will be implemented at NDP.
