When a fresh year of high school begins, what is a question on every new blazer’s mind? It is, of course, what are our class colors? Take a peek at this article to discover the challenging journey the class of 2028 faced when choosing our vibrant combination of pink and yellow!
A few weeks ago, the freshman officially began their high school careers as they chose their class colors. In case you didn’t hear, class of 28 is, drumroll, please…Pink and yellow! The other class’s colors haven’t changed, but in case you didn’t know, the sophomores are blue and green, the juniors are blue and orange, and the seniors are blue and purple. I know a lot of people are very happy with our pink and yellow colors, despite the “cursed” allegations. Let’s explore some other options that were on the table. In the table below, take a look at some color combos, and why they were ruled out.
While all these color combos look amazing, pink and yellow came out on top. Some students are satisfied, while some don’t feel so happy. Here are some quotes from both excited and disappointed freshman regarding our new colors, as well as a bonus sophomore opinion.
Azi Capps ’28: “I don’t love them, neither of those colors are flattering on me. Also, the pink is too dark, so I don’t think it’ll look good on a banner.”
Carolina Razon-Fernandez ‘28: “I love them! I think they’re cute and I can’t wait to be strawberries and lemons!”
Ellary Bowers ‘27: “I really like them; our class also liked the color combo when we were voting last year. They look super cute together and on merch, and I think you guys will break the so-called gym meet curse.”
After hearing all these opinions on the freshman class colors, do you have a new point of view? Or are you still content with your own conclusion? And do you think any of these color combos would have been a better option? It was a long road and a lot of voting to find our colors, but I can confidently say that a majority of the class of ‘28 is proud to be pink & yellow!
