As a soon to be graduated senior, I couldn’t help but reflect on my time at NDP and the things that helped me to achieve success. Here are some of the most prominent tips for being successful, happy, and confident throughout your time at NDP.
Keep Your Head Held High
It’s important to keep your head up even when there are moments where you feel dragged down. You’re not always going to get what you deserve, you may even find yourself working for seemingly “nothing”. However it’s the experience that shapes who you are, and you will find strength in the will to go on. Keeping your head held high will build a greater sense of mentality that’s necessary to succeed in high school and beyond.
Get Outside Your Comfort Zone
All of my most impactful experiences in high school have been the result of a simple step outside my comfort zone. Getting comfortable with being uncomfortable is one of the most beneficial actions you can take to grow as a person and as a learner. You will find getting uncomfortable will help you to discover new passions and opportunities you might have never found before. Leaving your comfort zone is bound to help you learn more about yourself, which will enrich your high school experience.
Do What Makes You Happy
No one can be productive or successful without being happy. It is of utmost importance that you pursue what you enjoy during your time at NDP. Having moments throughout the day or days throughout the week that you look forward to will unload the seemingly endless weight of stress and responsibilities. You can’t succeed in high school if you don’t succeed in acknowledging yourself, and what makes you happy.
Remember that the meaning of success is not defined by a grade point average or SAT score, it’s that you learn and grow and change for the better, while also staying true to yourself at the core.
