NDP’s Christmas Liturgy 2019
January 8, 2020
After a wonderful morning of gift-giving and listening to the festive music ensembles, NDP students, faculty, and alumnae gathered in the auditorium to celebrate Christmas Liturgy on December 20, 2019. This annual and beloved tradition is not only an excellent opener to the Christmas season, but also is a powerful reminder to let our inner light shine in a world that desperately needs it. The liturgy began with a Call to Worship given by Liza Regan, who set a solemn and reverent tone with her message about being a light for others through loving actions. Soon after, the congregation was called to light their candles. It’s hard to forget how the room slowly brightened as the flame was passed from one to another.
Following the mass itself, we were treated to the NDP choir’s rendition of “O Holy Night,” featuring soloist Olivia Aubele. The chorus’ beautiful voices and flickering candles filled the room with joy and peace. Christmas Liturgy is always a wonderful introduction to the holiday season, and all who attended went home to a restful break with the glow of the Christmas spirit alive in their hearts.
