After spending all summer outside in the hot sun, it can be hard to think of fun ideas as the leaves start to change and the air gets colder. Seeing your breath for the first time each fall is usually a shock and can make you miss summer. But luckily there are so many special activities you can do in the fall to get you in a more festive spirit and have fun in the autumn.
- Rake fallen leaves, make a pile, and jump in! This is the perfect substitute for jumping into a pool in the summer, and bonus points if you are helping your parents out with raking the leaves. Don’t forget to put them back after they all scatter when you jump in, so you are actually helping!
- Go to a pumpkin patch! This has so many ideas rolled into one. You can have a little photo shoot with your friends in the pumpkin patch and take some super cute fall pictures. Additionally, most pumpkin patches have corn mazes or hayrides. Make it a competition with your friends to see who can find their way out of the maze the fastest!
- Pumpkin painting or carving! Since you will have your pumpkin from going to the pumpkin patch (listed above), these are two fun ideas of what you can do with it. If you’re in a creative slump, don’t be shy to go look at Pinterest for spooktastic ideas!
- Go thrifting for some nice fall clothes! Second-hand clothing is a great way of taking care of the environment and the best part about it is that for fall clothes it is usually time to break out the cozy ones. Finding those super soft flannels or extra warm jackets are just what you need this fall season.
- Have a backyard bonfire! This can be with either friends or family! Think campfire and cooking hotdogs but fall style! Bring out the s’mores and hot chocolate! As the nights get colder and the air gets crisper, a fire with loved ones sounds even cozier.
- Go to a haunted house! Ever heard of Field of Screams? That place takes terror and fun to a whole new level! You can also throw a haunted house of your own as a fun activity. Making the spooky decorations and costumes, and then throwing it all together could be a fun way to scare your little neighbors!
Hopefully with these ideas you can truly have some fun this fall season!
