“If not me, then who…?” Travis Manion stated. Many know him as a Marine, but his true namesake is as a hero. In 2007, Manion sacrificed himself in order to save his patrol during an ambush attack. Today, his legacy remains and strengthens veterans, the military, and everyday people.
The Travis Manion Foundation lives to, not only uphold his legacy, but to help those who have felt the pain of war. Every year they host numerous fundraisers and service opportunities for people of all ages to participate in, such as the 9/11 Heroes Run. Often, when veterans return from war, they are left with PTSD and become outcasts of society. It is their job to appreciate the work they did and honor their service.
At NDP, the Travis Manion Foundation Club has helped female veterans by creating care packages filled with feminine hygiene products, as well as spreading awareness about the importance of the cause. Much in Manion’s image, be the one to stand up and help those in need. Because if it is not you…. then who?
