This year, like many years past, NDP celebrated the SSND’s Foundation Day on Oct. 21. Unlike preceding Foundation Day celebrations, though, this year’s liturgy and assembly were held over a livestream to accommodate for social distancing and safety during the COVID-19 pandemic. So much has had to change in these times, but thankfully we were still able to celebrate and reflect on the SSND’s history from school or home.

The liturgy, held in the chapel this year, began with a beautiful Call to Worship by senior Grace Gellerman, a transfer this year from IND. Grace shared her experiences with the SSND at both IND and NDP, and gave us an insight on our sisterhood across schools. We are also grateful to have had Rev. Joshua Laws as the liturgy’s celebrant, giving a homily that resonated with many in these times.

Although we couldn’t be together physically this year, the NDP community was united in spirit and faith for this wonderful celebration of the SSND and their mission.
