DNA Day at NDP

Katie Lorenz, Staff Writer

This past Tuesday, NDP students celebrated DNA Day. As biology students, freshmen were given DNA tattoos on Monday to wear on Tuesday, reading “I love your DNA.” The freshmen are especially connected to DNA Day as they are currently studying DNA and its importance. The red tattoos were brightly displayed all day on Tuesday, and some girls chose to keep theirs on for the rest of the week. For the entire school, door paddles were hidden with questions all around the school. Some were specified to a grade; some were for the whole school. If a student could answer the question on the door paddle, they could go to Mr. Peri’s room to pick out a special prize. In the cafeteria, curly DNA fries were served to show the double-helix pattern of DNA strands. All of the NDP students would like to thank Mr. Peri and all of the biology teachers for making this a fun-filled day.
