Junior Ring Day 2016

It’s been only two short weeks since the Class of 2018 received their rings. The iconic Notre Dame Prep onyx and gold rings are a symbol of the upperclasswomen. The class chose the song “The Days” by Avicii as their theme song. Just as the song states, “These are the days we won’t regret; these are the days we won’t forget.” With these rings, the Junior class joins the generations of NDP girls that will never forget their time at the school.

The highly anticipated liturgy and ceremony were as special as everyone hoped. The liturgy was an intimate gathering of just the Junior class and their guests. Then, the whole school gathered in the auditorium to watch the girls process in, receive their rings from Sr. Patricia, and listen to the song written and performed by the Junior class to the tune of the song “100 Years” by Five for Fighting.

The day ended with the Junior Ring Dance, arguably the best dance at NDP. All of the girls looked absolutely stunning. The best part of the evening was the very last song. The last song played at Ring Dance is the theme song chosen by the Junior class. As “The Days” played, all of the girls gathered in the middle of the dance floor. No one was instructed to do so. It wasn’t planned. It just happened. As we sang at the top of our lungs and jumped up and down holding our hands with our rings in the air, I felt the love our class has for each other and NDP. I am sure that “these are the days we won’t forget.”
