Seniors – The College Process

Katelyn Feihe, Student Life Writer

This fall has been very busy for NDP’s senior class! From AA dress making, challenging classes, being the leaders of the school, and Penny Queen, you can see that senior year is not as easy as one may think. On top of all that, the girls are spending any extra free time they have (very little) writing essays and filling out college applications. Although we know everyone will leave NDP and attend a great college, the process of getting to that point is very time consuming and stressful. Luckily, NDP girls are blessed with a very helpful team of college counselors that are with us every step of the way. They are always available for questions and are very organized. You do not have to worry about meeting college deadlines, because NDP has our own deadlines two weeks prior to any college, ensuring that all documents and scores will be received in perfect timing.

This past Wednesday, November 11th, our senior athletes signed their commitment letters for college level athletics. There are many athletes committing to various colleges across the nation for Lacrosse, Swimming, and Crew.

Now that the application process is nearing to an end, it is time to sit back and wait for decision letters and to enjoy our last year at NDP. The college process is fun and exciting, but also bittersweet. Seniors are excited for what lies ahead, but reluctant to leave their home and sisters behind. But, the words of Winnie the Pooh, “How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard,” really describe the emotions of everyone in the senior class at NDP.
