The Athletic Association Dance is always the highlight of fall at NDP. It is similar to a homecoming dance, except there is a twist. Every year, the seniors pick a theme and make their very own dresses with their friends. This year’s theme was the Big AApple (New York). The excitement started earlier this year because the Athletic Association voted on the theme back in the spring, to give the seniors extra time to hand-make their dresses. The theme was a hit! There were so many different groups including Tiffany’s, New Year’s Eve, Rockettes, Tourists, Harlem Globetrotters, Taxi Cabs, Queens, Rangers, Yankees, NY Times, Dylan’s Candy Bar, and The Museum of Modern Art. Seniors were excited to reveal their dresses, and the juniors were anxious to get ideas for next year! Senior Margaret McElroy says, “I loved seeing everyone’s dresses, and I was really happy mine held together as I danced the night away with my gal pals!” This year’s AA dance was a blast! Can’t wait to see next year’s dresses!
