A Fintastic Summer!

This summer I participated in the National Aquarium’s Student Summer Program. Despite the title, the program began in March. Every Saturday the participants of the program would go down to Baltimore and learn all about the animal life at the National Aquarium and conservation of our planet. After finishing up the first part of the program, we were given our blue polos and ready to go on the floor and talk to the people.

On my first official day of work, I got to work in the Australian exhibit. The exhibit is filled with animals with extreme adaptations and amazing abilities. This exhibit was one of my personal favorites, along with Living Seashore, where guests are able to touch rays, skates, horseshoe crabs, and moon jellies.

This past summer was one of the best I’ve ever had. I met so many new friends with similar interests. I had the opportunity to inform people from all around the world about fish and conservation of our planet. I learned so much I didn’t know about our planet and how to save it. It was an amazing experience, and I loved it so much.
