The ASPCA, American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, is a non-profit organization that finds homes for abandoned, abused, and needy animals. It was founded in 1886 by Henry Bergh, and their mission is to provide effective means for the prevention of cruelty to animals throughout the United States. Today there are locations all over the country, and the headquarters is in New York. They were also the first humane organization to be able to investigate and make arrests for animal cruelty in the United States. The ASPCA requires hundreds of thousands of dollars every year to keep up its services for the animals, which comes from donations and fundraisers.
Most of the animals lived on the street or in unfit homes before being taken in by the ASPCA. The animals receive medical care and love, and when they are ready, they are put up for adoption. During the adoption process, the ASPCA volunteers make sure the animals are put into homes where they are cared for and loved. After adopting a kitten this summer, I can honestly say it was one of the best decisions I have ever made and have enjoyed every second with him. Adopting an animal from the ASPCA is a great way to provide love to animals and help give them a home. Donating or volunteering is also a great way to ensure love and happiness to the animals as they find homes. ASPCA is a great organization that provides care for animals, and I am thankful for all the work they do in the United States.
