The seniors will soon be packing for their trip to New York City. The 156 girls will file onto two coach buses and leave for the Big Apple on Thursday morning at 8 AM. Upon arrival, the seniors will split up into tour groups to visit either the MoMA, the MET, the World Trade Center, NBC Studios or Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum. During the trip, the girls have planned to accomplish a lot more than uncovering the best shopping opportunities. On Thursday night, everyone will gather at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre to see “Anything Goes,” a recently revived Broadway musical from 1934. After the show, half of the girls will eat a late dinner at Sardi’s, while others will eat at Café Un Deux Trois.
On Friday night, the girls will be seeing another greatly anticipated new play, “War Horse,” at the Vivian Beaumont Theatre. “War Horse” is a new play centered on a relationship between a boy and his horse during World War I. After the play, the girls will enjoy a late dinner at the opposite restaurant of which they attended the previous night.
Besides these group events, the seniors are free to plan the rest of their activities on their own. Anna Hiser plans to ice skate with her friends, while Maria Kolar and Jesse Lambdin will ride the carousel in Central Park. Mary Kate Helm will play the floor piano at FAO Swartz with Maggie Perkins. Kate Somerville is looking forward to visiting the MET, and Christina Armstrong and Erin Brown will visit both the Gossip Girl set and shop at Dash, the Kardashians’ store in NYC. With limitless opportunities and tours to choose from, the seniors are eager to arrive in the city that never sleeps and enjoy some time out of school.
