NDP girls show their love for the Orioles with signs!

Haley Dick, Editor-in-Chief

Although the weather has not been in their favor, the Orioles have had a great start to their 2016-2017 season. On opening day, the rain kept pouring down in Baltimore, where the Orioles were set to face the Minnesota Twins. The rain came down for hours, and multiple lengthy delays were announced. Some fans decided to leave as it got later and later, but those faithful fans who stayed were glad they did when the Orioles beat the Twins 3-2. Since then, the Orioles have been on a roll and are the MLB’s only undefeated team this year.

Chris “The Crush” Davis has not let us down. Last night in the Orioles first away game at Fenway Park, Davis smacked a 3-run homer, giving the Orioles a significant lead over the Red Sox. On opening day, pitcher Chris Tillman had an amazing opening two innings, followed by Yovani Gallardo who pitched the next five innings. From what we have seen so far, we seem to be in good shape for the season ahead, both offensively and defensively.

Despite the crazy Maryland weather, the birds are off to a tremendous start with a record of 6-0. Throughout this week, they are set to face the Boston Red Sox and the Texas Rangers, both away. Let’s continue to wear our orange to show our support for our home team, and welcome them home together next Tuesday to face the Toronto Blue Jays at Camden Yards. Let’s go O’s!
