A Letter to the Juniors
May 17, 2016
To our Sisters of the Class of 2017,
Your time is almost here! You are one summer away from your last year in the halls of NDP. As we get ready to say goodbye, the Class of 2016 has some wishes and reminders to help you enjoy your last year to the fullest…
1. Take Time to Appreciate Your Sisters
Your time at NDP is so special. It is a place where you can be unapologetically yourself and are empowered to reach your full potential. It is easy to forget how precious each moment with your sisters is. We have been given the incredible opportunity to be surrounded with people who love us and bring out the best in us. Take the time to compliment your sisters, enjoy each moment, and make memories. You will look back on them as some of the best times of your life.
2. Try Something New
As we finish high school, we often realize that there are so many things that we want to do before high school is over, but never even tried. As new opportunities arise, take them! Try a new service activity, sit with a new lunch table, or just challenge yourself to say hi to three new people each day. It can be anything! Don’t wait until your last week at NDP to try new things; soak up all your opportunities!
3. Work Hard
Senioritis is real… But actually, when you are so close to finishing, you often wonder why try any more; you are already into college, Keep up the good work you pushed so hard for all of high school. You can do it! Savor the learning experience, do your best in everything you do, but don’t stress to much–it is your senior year!.
4. Don’t Procrastinate
College applications are hard- you all know this I’m sure, but the best tip I have for you is to not procrastinate. Get it done! You will be so happy when it is over. Take time to be proud of what you accomplished and how amazing you are.
5. Don’t Stress Too Much
College is important, don’t get me wrong, but you are more than a number on the SAT. I will not lie, the college application process will be stressful at times, but I promise you will get through it. Try your best, be informed, and work hard, because at the end of the day, that’s all you can do. You have overcome so much and your worth is not based on how many people have heard of the name of your college. Go where you feel like you can be 100% yourself.
Senior year is amazing. It is a time full of memories, traditions, and friendships that will last a lifetime. From your Class of 2016 sisters, we wish you the best of luck in all you do. Cherish all the opportunities and moments with your sisters. You can do it, and you are worth more than you can every know. As we get ready to say goodbye, we want to thank you for being our amazing little sisters of orange and blue. Thank you for looking up to us throughout the years, for pushing us to be our best, and for encouraging us along every step of the way. We are so proud of you and can’t wait to see all that you do in the future. If you ever need a helping hand, you know your teal and sky sisters got your back!
Best of Luck,
The Class of 2016

What a nice touch for the juniors and so typical of this class. The Class of 2016 has always been one of the classiest classes I have known. They have a history of thinking outside the box and doing things that cause a careful observer take note that something different is happening. From Sophomore Dance Plaque, to a public thank you to the parents at Senior Bingo, to graffiti of encouragement for the other classes at Gym Meet 2016, and on and on. Your leadership served you well but each of you collectively and individually made a legacy of distinction. Thank you Class of 2016!!
