After a survey was conducted for random NDP students to say their top five favorite Disney Channel Original Movies, it was clear that most people had completely unique favorites. Overall, though, there were some movies that were clearly more popular than others. Here are the top five favorite Disney movies from NDP students:
5. Cheetah Girls
No matter how many people took this survey, it seemed like absolutely everyone had loved Cheetah Girls when they were younger. I have to admit, it is pretty great. Four girls try to win a talent show and are instead turned into instant superstars. What could be bad about that? They even go to Barcelona!
4. Sky High
Whether you are a hero, a villain, or even a sidekick, you are bound to have seen this movie when you were younger. It doesn’t have a Panabaker, which is shocking for Disney, but it still manages to be a likeable (and typical) Disney classic.
3. The Luck of the Irish
I just watched this one again, and I can’t say that I love it. Leprechauns and Cultural Awareness Assemblies are nice enough, but the villain is just too likeable to make sense. Wouldn’t you want to steal an Irish coin necklace if you had the chance?
2. My Date with the President’s Daughter
Everything about this movie screams “90s”, and I could not care less. Combining politics, teen romance, and clubbing in one film meant for children under the age of ten might sound risky, but Disney really nailed it on this one. It is kind of sketchy that the president knows everything about his daughter’s date from memory, though…
1. Teen Beach Movie
Everything about this movie is excellent. It honestly could not be better. Two surfers get caught in a 1960s beach movie, where they sing along to the best Disney soundtrack of all time and save the beach from an evil scientist’s weather machine. Don’t overthink it.
