Matt Damon Gets Rescued (Again)
November 1, 2015
If you like space and movies that rescue America’s damsel in distress, Matt Damon, then you should see The Martian before it leaves theaters.
In this action-packed film, a crew of astronauts are on an expedition to Mars. Suddenly, a dust storm hits, and they must evacuate the planet immediately. Along the way, Matt Damon or Mark Watney, gets left behind on Mars. The movie centers around him trying to figure out how to survive on the desolate planet, while NASA tries figure out how to “bring him home.”
This movie is action-packed from start to finish. Throughout the movie, I found myself literally on the edge of my seat wondering what will happen next. These scenes were so riveting and well done, in the special effects department. A huge majority of the movie needed them, and they were done so phenomenally, that it made me feel like I were in space.
Many space movies are not that accurate with the science in the film. However, after watching The Martian, I came across an interview of astrophysicist, Neil Degrasse Tyson. In the interview he mentioned how most of the science behind the film was actually accurate. For example, items that are dropped on Mars fall more slowly than they do on Earth, and this was shown in the movie. The filmmakers took the time to carefully show and depict the way Mars and space operate.
The Martian is a great film that keeps you entertained. Trust me, this one you have to see before it leaves theaters.
