Notre Dame Prep’s spring play this year is “Ask Any Girl.” The play is a romantic comedy with a surprise ending. It is about a young woman, Meg Wheeler, who moves to New York from a small city. Using fake statistics to convince her parents and aunts played by Lexi Canelos, Lucas Iverson, Megan O’Donnell, and Maddie Wiklund, Meg played by Jamie Watson, is allowed to move. She has high hopes that her life will be glamorous with nights spent at clubs and high end restaurants. Her aim in moving is to get married, and she believes that there will be men around all the time, but realizes soon after her arrival, that this is not the case. She then decides she must get a job to fulfill this dream and from that point on, things only get funnier. The other characters include Ada, Lisa, Ruby, Heidi and Jeannie, who are some of Meg’s friends and are played by Monica Rosenblatt, Julia Capizzi, Nikki Smith, Julia Unitas and Libby Brennan. Terri, Vince and Alvin, who are employees of Doughton and Doughton, are played by Maria Conner, Michael Fiocco and Daniel Unitas. Miles and Evan Doughton, the brothers who Meg associates with, are played by Austin Cramer and Kurt Imhoff. Two new arrivals at the hotel are played by Taylor Hineline and Kaitlyn Jones. The conductor is played by Patrick Eby, and the telephone operator is played by Emmy Raugh. The crew includes Cass Vogel, the student director, Meg Hill and Brenna Leary on lights, Jazz Keys and Sydney Montano on sound, Vida Young, Michelle Stanley, Meg Chaney, Sara Hall, Margaret Lane and Mary Schaefer on run crew.
A preview of the play was performed Wednesday and was well received by the NDP community. Expectations are high and with a cast of such funny people, there is no doubt the expectations will be exceeded. The play will be performed Friday 30th and Saturday 31st at 7:30. General seating tickets will be sold at the door for $10, and angel seats will be sold for $15. You may be wondering who will be attending the play this weekend and the answer is simple. “You can ask any girl!”
