Advent is a Christian season of preparation for the Nativity of Christ. It includes the four preceding Sundays leading up to Christmas.

Advent is a time of hope, allowing pastors, church leaders, and others to help rekindle hope and belief in Christ. It’s a time when we refocus on God’s presence in our lives and those of our close friends, family, and other loved ones.

During the Advent season, it is important for us to truly focus on our individual relationships with God. Some ways we can actively seek God out during Advent and any other time of the year include going to Confession, reading and repeating the Bible throughout the day, surrounding ourselves with people who remind us of God, and blocking out time in the day to just be with God – no distractions.

Advent is a way for Christians to refocus on the beliefs of their faith. There is no greater joy than the Christmas season, and the effects of Advent make it so much sweeter.
