Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, OH MY! Ladies and Gentlemen, NDP IS OFFICIALLY ONLINE! Go follow NDP on all social media because you never know when you might appear in a photo. But who is the master controller of all these accounts? A wonderful woman who enjoys college basketball, photography, quilting, and boating. I introduce to you…the wonderful Ms. McCaffery! She is NDP’s new Social Media Manager. She was born and raised in Southern Indiana and moved to Baltimore with her husband. She attended Catholic school for 12 years and then enrolled at Purdue University. Before NDP, she worked at an all-boys school. I asked her how she fell into the “best dream job ever.” She said that she went into college with an interest in computer graphics and product management. When she graduated in 2008, the economy was not doing too well because of the recession, so when thinking about applying for a job, she had to be creative. Ms. McCaffery started working on websites and landed in social media. She expressed that this job requires her to “get into the head of a teenage girl” (pretty scary, right?). She explained how it was a lot more statistics and psychology than you’d think. She then turned my attention to her computer screen, where she showed me the various graphs and charts that portrayed the different viewers, likers, followers, etc. “Everything I do is a complete experiment.” She described to me that every post or status is a risk. There is no way of knowing if your followers will like or share a link. All in all, our new country music listener, Mexican food lover, N’Sync boy band fan is very excited for the future plans of NDP online (That may include a Snapchat account…pretty cool, right?). Also, if you follow NDP’s account, they cannot follow you or access your photos, so you must direct message any pictures you would like to be posted to NDP’s account.
