As a member of the team running the Middle Level’s new news station, WNDP, I can say firsthand that every day can be hectic in the minutes before a broadcast.  But when Jessica Kartalija, an anchor from WJZ, came to guest anchor on a show, it was organized chaos!  Arriving right on time, Jessica was escorted to her seat and immediately greeted by the other two anchors, Mary-Kate Guillott and Hannah Stack.  They showed her the news they would be reporting, and then the AV Technicians showed Mrs. Kartalija where to look and when they would be switching cameras.  Suddenly, it was time to start.  Thanks to the amazing crew we have, the broadcast went fabulously.  After being featured on the advisories’ Smartboards, everyone proceeded down to the Middle Level Gathering Space for a speech given by Jessica, and we were given the opportunity to ask questions.  It turns out that she had a part in one of the Transformers movies!  She talked to us about how she started out and what led her to where she is today.  Mrs. Kartalija also complimented us on our little production, and then told us that we would get to be on the news!  Not as actual news, but recently, the WJZ commercials have included little tidbits of NDP’s very own Middle Level.  So next time you watch the news, keep an eye out for our girls!

From the Middle Level, everyone loved having Jessica Kartalija come and guest star, especially the ensemble producing WNDP.  We thanked her many times, and hope we can get another guest anchor soon!
