Ms. Peruzovic has two German Shorthaired Pointers named Boone and Finn. She does agility, obedience and bird hunting training with them several times a week. Finn and Boone both have their AKC juniors and senior hunting certification after participating in several American Kennel Club competitions. Boone has his AKC Companion Dog certification in obedience. Ms. P takes the dogs swimming and hiking almost every day after school and in the summer, and Boone absolutely loves to play ball. While on hikes, Boone and Finn like to search for fish in rivers, and last summer Finn caught a Golden Trout in the Gunpowder River.
Morgan, the English bulldog, belongs to Mrs. Sherinsky in the tech department, and she brings a tremendous amount of joy to her family.
Chloe is an adorable Shih Tzu owned by Mrs. Albert. She is six years old and is very loveable and independent. She loves snuggling up on the couch with her owners, going for walks to the mailbox and playing with her toys (the nosier the better). Last June she had an accident with her eye and had to have it stitched shut for four weeks, but now she’s back to being her old self and as ready to play as ever!
Bella is a Siberian, a breed that is supposedly good for family members who have allergies, owned by the Colarossi family. When she had minor surgery as a kitten, there were some complications. After many running many tests, including sending her blood to Cornell University’s Veterinary Hospital, we learned that she has a form a feline hemophilia, which prohibits her blood from clotting. Not only is she “Russian” by heritage, but she seems to have acquired the condition of Russian royalty! Mrs. Colarossi states that she is a “princess” and is extremely lovable and fun.
Senora Filar owns two dogs, Saffron and Leroy. Saffron is a white Jack Russell Terrier, and Leroy is a black Jack Russell mix. Saffron was a thirtieth birthday present for Ms. Filar from her sister whose dog had puppies, and she is now twelve years old. Leroy is a rescue dog, and he is four years old. His breeder was going to put him down because he is not a purebred. Ms. Filar suggests that you rescue dogs, and she states that all of her future dogs will be rescue dogs and not purebred.
Baxter Picasso Martiyan was born on January 24, 2012, and he came home to the Martiyans on March 20, 2012. Mrs. Connelly is his godmother because she went all the way to Quarryville, Pennsylvania. He is a cocker spaniel, miniature poodle mix (Cockapoo). He is currently ten pounds, but could get as big as eighteen pounds. His name was originally Picasso on the website, so he was obviously the perfect match for art teacher, Mrs. M. He was renamed Baxter Picasso because it is Mrs. M’s mother’s maiden name, and her husband loves the movie, “Anchorman.” Mrs. M has wanted a puppy for a really long time so for Valentine’s Day, she had to play hangman on the back of the card to guess Baxter, so he truly is a special gift.
