Blazer Bash this year was a hit! Approximately three hundred guests were in attendance this year. The event was a night of fun with dinner, dancing and auctions! NDP parent, Marianne Banister, served as the Mistress of Ceremonies. The theme, “Escape to Monte Carlo,” was beautifully complimented by the decorative apparatus provided by Mr. Cusick’s sophomore engineering class. Students assisted the event by greeting guests, selling raffle tickets and helping with the live and silent auctions. The event spanned from 6 p.m. to midnight and kicked off with a Jazz Ensemble, led by Alex Dzbinski, for cocktail hour. After cocktail hour came the live auction raffle which technology specialist, Mia Walsh won. She claimed her prize of a Gourmet Party for 16, catered by NDP Café Cristi Barry. The silent auction took place with guests using either their smart phones to bid, or an electronic bidding device, provided by Click Bid. The Blazer Bash rose over $135,000 for NDP programs! When asked to comment on the success of Blazer Bash, NDP Events Coordinator Sharon Alecci responded, “This year’s Blazer Bash truly showcased our NDP community and the generosity of our parents and friends. The event was a great success and exceeded our fundraising expectations. It was an exciting and fun-filled evening!” This year’s Blazer Bash was beautifully executed, and such a success can only mean great things for the future of NDP and the future of Blazer Bash.
