Want to stay up to date on the latest events at NDP and learn more about our traditions? Tune in to Prep Perspectives! Prep Perspectives, the new NDP podcast, is one of a kind. The hosts, Emma H. and Amanda D., both class of ’27, will be putting out monthly episodes on the recent happenings at school. These episodes, usually around twenty minutes long, are jam packed with lively conversation, fun segments, and exclusive interviews with faculty and fellow students.
The first episode “Gym Meet” dives into many different aspects, offering an intimate perspective on gym meet through interviews with two of our gym meet captains, Carley Curry (’27) and Lucy Loeffler (’25) as well as Mrs. Bryson. Carley and Lucy talk about their experiences being gym meet captain and their opinions on their themes this year. Mrs. Bryson then shares her personal experience participating in gym meet as well as her current experience as gym meet coordinator and NDP mom.
After first hearing about the podcast and then listening to the first episode I was very interested in what it took to start the podcast as well as the future of it. I decided to interview the hosts of Prep Perspectives, Emma H. and Amanda D., for a closer look.
What kind of topics will you be focusing on during episodes?
“We will be focusing on topics that are relevant to the NDP community such as blazer dash, penny queen, gym meet, tree trim, and basically everything that goes on in the school. It is for anyone who wants to find out more information about traditions and recent events!” -Amanda D. ‘27
What was the process for starting this podcast like?
“We started this process late last year, so it’s been a long time coming. It took a lot of meetings with the communications department and getting things approved. We also needed to find a supervisor and thankfully Ms. Doyle agreed! We are so grateful to finally get the process started and can’t wait for more episodes.” -Emma H. ‘27
Future goals for the podcast?
“We have big plans for the podcast! Our main goal is to get the whole school involved and engaged. We’re eager to hear feedback and ideas from listeners and are looking to expand our team. Additionally, we hope to reach prospective students and families. We’re also focused on improving our editing skills and upgrading our equipment to up the overall quality of the podcast.” -Amanda D. ‘27
