On October 31st 2013, millions of kids across America trick or treated in their neighborhoods. The question is, are teenagers too old to trick or treat? It’s definitely a heated topic. Most adults have said that as long as teenagers are polite and respectful, they will give the teens their candy. Although some parents may ask ,“Aren’t you a little too old?” When surveying a few people in my neighborhood, my neighbor said, “As long as they are wearing a costume, they are polite, and they say trick or treat, I will give them candy.” One parent told me that a teenager wore her sports uniform as her costume. She said in order to get candy, people should at least put an effort in their costume. Some neighborhoods believe that Halloween Trick or Treating is for younger kids, but there is no law stating that teenagers in high school cannot trick or treat. However, Belleville, Illinois has passed a law in 2008 stating that if you are older than 12 and you go trick or treating, you can be fined $25! Many girls at NDP trick or treated this year although it was mostly a 50/50 ratio. More and more cities are banning Trick or Treating past age 12! What do you think? How old is too old?
